Kobold
The Kobolds are a race of a rather craven reptilian nature. They worship Dragons and Dragon gods as both their ancestors (they claim to have dragon blood in their veins) and as signs of power (which they desire greatly given their small size). They live generally in tribal clans that follow a shamanistic religion. There are two major types of Kobolds found in the continent of Astoria, the Cave Kobolds and the Nomads.
Strength in Numbers
Due to their small size they rarely seek to engage foes in single combat, they would much rather form part of a pack or large group and swarm the unlucky person that opposes them. They also can be quite devious, they love setting traps to even the odds. Once a creature is disabled they will rush in en mass to finish off the victim.
General Traits
Ability Scores
Your Dexterity increases by 2. Your Intelligence increases by 1.
Alignment
Kobolds do tend towards evil alignment (though obviously exceptions exist). The Cave Kobolds tend to be Lawful Evil and value the tradition of worshiping Tiamat. The Nomadic tribes tend towards Chaotic Evil and value a bit of freedom.
Age
Kobolds can actually be quite long lived living for a bit over a century. However few Kobolds live that long. Many that do however are tend to rise to prominent positions as either chieftains or shamans.
Size
Kobolds are small creatures.
Speed
Kobolds can be surprisingly fleet of foot despite their small stature. Their base speed is 30 ft.
Pact Tactics
Kobolds excel at swarming adversaries. They get advantage on melee attacks when there is an ally within 5ft of a enemy they attack if the ally isn't incapacitated.
Devious Nature
Choose either proficiency with Thieves' Tools or with Trapmaking (dunno which skill it is exactly but I can game it as needed). Kobolds are sneaky and like getting the advantage on their opponents.
Sneaky
Kobolds have proficiency in the Stealth skill.
Languages
Kobolds speak Common and Draconic.
Cave Kobolds
Cave Kobolds are the standard of Kobold culture. They live (unsurprisingly) in Cave networks and tend to be nocturnal. Due to this they have both darkvision and a weakness to the bright light of day. They do not like the Nomadic groups as they find them to be heathen who betrayed the god Tiamat and instead worship Kutrulmak (who is actually a servant of Tiamat but Kobolds gonna Kobold). The two groups split ages ago and no one really quite knows what caused the specific rift.
Darkvision
Cave Kobolds have Darkvision out to 60 ft.
Sunlight Sensitivity
Cave Kobolds are ill accustomed to the bright light of day and have disadvantage on skill (besides Stealth), ability, and attack rolls in situations of bright light.
Extra Sneaky
Cave Kobolds are even sneakier than their cousins and get advantage on Stealth rolls. This includes times they are outside in daylight.
Nomadic Kobolds
The Nomadic Kobold tribes wander the forests, hills, and plains of Astoria in wandering clans and worship Kurtulmak. They have over time overcome their natural weakness to sunlight while still maintaining some of their eyesight in darkness.
Low-Light Vision
Nomadic Kobolds have adapted to the daytime and surface and don't suffer penaties in sunlight. This has lost them some of their natural vision during raw darkness and instead they have low light vision out to 60ft.
