I was told to start preparing a second character sheet just in case so I wrote up a quick background for a half-Orc rouge I don't have a name quiet yet will get on eventually maybe who knows I mostly wrote this for fun.
Makhel Burguul
She was sleeping so soundly it was to easy. Just move quickly and quietly through the room and take everything that wasn't nailed down... And some of it that was. Unfortunately large size can be a disadvantage some times. I knocked a stone statue over it fell on to the floor with a large thud. Shit. The woman woke up and grabbed a hidden knife and charged me screaming. Instinct took over I dodged her first attack and ended the fight I stabbed her in the throat. There was a sickening gurgle and slurping noise but she wasn't dead quite yet... Elvish women can be a pain. Blood sprayed everywhere as I twisted and pulled the dagger across her throat. I drove a second dagger into her gut and up under her rib cage for good measure. She fell limp it was done. "All I wanted was all the shit you owned lady" I whispered to her. I let the body fall unceremoniously onto the floor into quickly forming pool of blood. already made a lot noise might as well make more. I stuff whatever valuables I could find quickly into my pockets. I hear light footsteps down the hall. I looked for my way out. Good there's my window I melded into the shadows and snuck out it. Peering in the window for a second I caught a glimpse of a small girl staring at the dead body of the woman asking her to wake up... To bad kid. I slipped into the dark alleys of the city and vanished into the night.
Next day
I decided to take a walk today need it to clear my head. I also need to find somewhere to sell this stuff if not it is just worthless weight. I hate worthless shit. Something caught my ear while walking the city streets the town crier yelling something about a murder or something like that. I get closer and ask him to repeat himself and make it quick I got places to be after all. He scoffs at me. "Why would you want to know you probably don't even understand me do you, you inbred Orc dullard" he says to me. Now pissing me off normally gets people a knife in the back, but this guy I'm just going to beat him into a bloody pulp. I lunge at him knock him flat on the ground and start bashing his face in. Guards rush over and pull me away from him. I struggle against them for a second and break their grip. I charge back at the guy on the ground who is pretty unconscious and has a nice broken nose along with probably a broken jaw. I get to him and get one more good punch before the guards grab me. I spit at the guy on the ground for good measure. "I think I understood you just fine. You said punch me in face please right?" I say to him. The guards pull me away toss me into an alley and start beating me there are four of them to many fight. I don't wanna just take the beating but sometimes you just have to. something else catches their attention they start to walk away. One particularly stupid looking one looks back at me and says "we catch you causin' trouble again and we kill you. Worthless shit." I'll remember his face he'll get what's coming to him sometime. While I was beating the town crier senseless I had managed to quickly nab a fist full of flyers, and his coin pouch. The guy only had 7 silver pieces whatever. The paper went into the details about some elvish woman was found dead last night by her daughter and husband when they returned home Stabbed in the neck and stomach. Nothing seemed out of place except some missing jewelry and a stone statue on the floor. It seemed like the front door had been the point of entry. Someone had picked the lock to get in. It was either a planed murder or a robbery gone bad. Any information should be reported to the town guard immediately. Well damn I guess I missed my chance to give a clue to the guards ha. They wouldn't believe that I did it anyway even if I showed them the jewelry. No one expects a half Orc to have any finesse, they would just think I beat up the real thief and took loot. I like that playing the part of dumb Orc isn't hard, gets me into some trouble sometimes but normally makes me the last target for this sort of shit. But still I figured it wouldn't be a good time to sell some jewelry. I'm going to go get a drink and plan my next job. This next job I was actually hired for so should be easy pay but still I can't get that woman off my mind.
I didn't want to hurt that woman had she not attacked me so suddenly I might have even run to avoid it. Things didn't work out that way. I feel bad for the family but so is life. The girl haunts my a bit... I need to get rid of this shit I stole. Get out of this city leave this shit behind.
A couple weeks later after laying low for a while.
I can't leave Cannich. I can't get that image of the little girl out of my mind I have to make it right some how. I think I know how to start. I sold the jewelry a couple days back got a decent amount of coin from it and job I did for my contact. But, I can't spend this gold it isn't right.
I headed back to the house of the Elvish woman I had murdered. I knocked on the door a man answered, "who are you" he asked rather calmly. Surprising since a half-orc he has never seen before is at his door and someone in his family was just killed but whatever. "I'm no one important, I just heard about the murder a couple weeks back terrible new really. I felt rather bad that some hooligan would not only steal your stuff and kill your wife. I actually have something for you I hope it will help ease the grief." I hand him all the gold i received from the jewelry which totaled about 140 gp, I also snuck the wedding ring I stole from his wife into his pocket he seemed to distracted by the coin purse to notice. He looked inside and just stuttered for a second "how... how... where... what is this I don't?" "don't worry about it, I doubt it even makes a dent in the grief you are suffering. Oh and one more thing." I pull out a doll and hand it to him "That is for your little girl". He was to stunned to say anything but "thank you..." very weakly. I walked away with a small smile. I still owe them more so much more... but I wanted this first payment to be in person.
